IT’S OFTEN SAID THAT ONE BECOMES A LIFE EXPERT BEFORE THEY BECOME THE ACTUAL EXPERT…SO HERE’S MY STORY…

Any part of it ring true for you? I went into peri-menopause in my mid-30s. I had severe and frequent hot flashes, headaches, forgetfulness and mood swings. I was always tired because I couldn’t sleep.  I was so bloated I looked like I was ready to give birth at any moment. My GYN pooh-poohed me, insisting that I was “too young”– but finally relented, took blood work and was shocked at the results.  She promptly prescribed medication that only made me feel worse.  I finally found a physician who also emphasized the importance of food, lifestyle and stress-management and I felt better soon. Because I’ve been there, I know what you’re experiencing.

HERE’S THE THING ABOUT HORMONES…

A lot of people think hormones only go off the charts during menopause, but that’s not true. In fact, one of the biggest hormonal shifts occurs when one enters peri-menopause which can happen as young as age 35. You can also experience hormone havoc in your 20s or teens, as a result of diet, stress, medication, illness, surgery and more. We’ve all been taught that the answer to correcting a hormone imbalance lies in a pill or shot–and for some, that is true–but for many, it is not.
